Martin Groat
Martin Groat has been qualified as a solicitor for 40 years and his caseload is mainly on the contentious side of the practice.
He has been at the firm since 1983 and is a recognised Sole Practitioner with a skilled team of lawyers providing a broad range of legal services.
A Law Graduate of Sheffield University Martin undertook his professional training in the South East and settled in this area after qualification. During his time here he has been involved in community organisations such as the CAB, and East Grinstead Scouting.
Martin has conducted family law cases since he qualified and has broad family law experience in both divorce (financial remedy, children matters and divorce itself) as well as disputes between cohabitants. He drafts and advises upon pre and post nuptial agreements-and cohabitation arrangements. He also advises upon matters relating to mental capacity-lasting powers of attorney and related matters, and regularly advises in Employment Law matters.
Martin undertakes contentious residential landlord and tenant matters.

Edward Roos
Edward Roos is well known with the local estate agents as being efficient and fast. Clients often comment on Edward and Veronica's dedication, problem solving and excellent communication.
Edward is assisted by Veronica Chesson who has been with Waughs since 1996.
Edward obtained his Masters in law degree with Leicester University and has been in practice since qualification in 2009.
Edward is very familiar with East and West Sussex, Surrey (Oxted), Croydon to Epsom areas and Western Kent.
Edward can also assist with ID verification away from the office in Purley & Caterham.

Clare Lumley
Clare is an Associate Solicitor. She obtained her law degree and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at De Montfort University over 20 years ago and began her 2 year training contract at Waughs in 1995 qualifying as a solicitor in 1997.
Since qualifying Clare has worked in the private client area eventually specialising in residential conveyancing in 2003 helping hundreds of people move home across the country.
Clare undertakes annual professional development courses in residential conveyancing developing her skill set in conveyancing each year.
Outside of work, Clare enjoys walking her dog, reading, eating out and spending time with her family.

Ian Morgan
Ian is an Associate Solicitor in the Private Client Department. He started practising Private Client Law in 1999 at Womble Bond Dickinson and then Henmans Solicitors in Oxfordshire.
In 2005, Ian became a manager at Lloyds Private Banking, dealing with the administration of estates for high net worth clients. Since 2017, he has been at Waughs Solicitors.
He advises and acts in Probate administration matters, drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney. He is a member of The Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and has experience dealing with overseas estates and issues of domicile.
Ian enjoys cycling, having recently retired from marathon running. He has a keen interest in art and is a member of the East Grinstead Art Society and the British Italian Society.

Pam Dorrington
Pam qualified as a fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1989 since which time she has practiced in family law. She has spent the majority of that time in private practice in East Grinstead and with Waughs for the last 14 years.
Pam has extensive experience in areas of divorce; financial and property settlements following the breakdown of relationships; private law children matters; civil partnership dissolution; non-molestation/occupation orders; trust of land act matters: together with separation deeds and pre-nuptial agreements.
Pam understands the sensitivity needed to handle difficult situations and endeavours to resolve disputes in a fair and efficient way. Pam has a well-established reputation for reliability and keeps clients closely informed of developments as they occur. Pam will deal with cases from initial instructions right through to conclusion and will brief Counsel or refer matters to mediation as and when required.
Pam is a member of the Law Society Family Law Accreditation Panel.
Outside work Pam enjoys walks with her dog, travelling, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
